Mahamritunjay Jaap / Anusthan
The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is an ancient Sanskrit mantra known for its immense power. It goes by various names and forms, such as the Rudra mantra, signifying the fierce aspect of Shiva; the Tryambakam mantra, representing Shiva's three eyes; and sometimes referred to as the Mrita-Sanjivini mantra, as it played a part in reviving the sage Shukra after a period of intense austerity. Sages regard it as the essence of the Veda.
The term "Mahamrityunjaya" translates to victory over great death and the illusion of separation from the spirit. The Mahamritunjay jaap anustan, or recitation, is performed to ensure a long and healthy life and to alleviate prolonged illness, particularly for those nearing the end of their life.
"Mahamritunjay" also signifies Trimbakeshwar, where Lord Trimbakeshwar embodies the aspect of the Supreme Being and is revered as the destroyer of evil and sorrow.

OM. We worship and adore you, O three-eyed one, O Shiva. You are sweet gladness, the fragrance of life, who nourishes us, restores our health, and causes us to thrive. As, in due time, the stem of the cucumber weakens, and the gourd if freed from the vine, so free us from attachment and death, and do not withhold immortality.
